Chief Human Resources Officer

Larry A. Callahan is a seasoned human resources executive with over 35 years of experience driving meaningful cultural transformation and building high-performing, collaborative teams. As Pomeroy’s Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO), Larry oversees all aspects of human resources, including organizational structure, talent acquisition, employee engagement, leadership development, diversity and inclusion initiatives, performance management, and benefits and rewards programs.

His career began in the technology and business services sector, where he spent more than two decades at Siemens. As the Senior Vice President of Human Resources, he oversaw all HR functions for Siemens’ U.S. operations, significantly reducing turnover rates while leading a profitable restructuring. He also served as Vice President of Human Resources for North America at Diebold Nixdorf for three years, collaborating closely with regional and global leaders to enhance human resource practices.

Recently, Larry held the position of Chief People Officer at MUSC Health. Prior to that, he was the Chief Human Resources Officer for various healthcare and higher education organizations, including UNC Health, Grady Health System, the University of Chicago Medical Center, and Howard University. In these roles, he implemented innovative, award-winning HR strategies that significantly enhanced employee satisfaction, improved patient care quality, and enriched student experience. Additionally, he served on TIAA’s Advisory Council and the Workforce Investment Council for the city of Washington, D.C.

Larry holds a master’s degree in political science from Marshall University and a bachelor’s degree in political science from West Virginia State University.
