Finance Assistant
Salary: £25,000

To assist the Financial Controller and Director in the day to day running of a busy finance department of a global IT solutions business and working closely with Service Delivery Directors, Managers and employees across the company.   Covering UK, Belgium, Denmark, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Netherlands, Sweden and Switzerland.  It is a multi-currency environment. 

Main Accountabilities 
Invoicing & Receivable

  • Raise customer invoices for all European countries
  • Submit sales invoices into various web based systems and accounting system
  • Ensure invoices and accruals are posted to the ledger

Intercompany

  • Raise intercompany invoices and distribute to all entities
  • Input intercompany invoices onto our accounting system

Accounts Payable

  • Check, code and enter all invoices onto Lawson and obtain the appropriate approvals
  • Prepare invoice batches for payment

Employee Expenses

  • Assist financial controller with the checking and payment of employee expenses
  • Deal promptly with any related queries

Data Centre Operator

Salary: £21,000
Job type: Permanent
Location: Nottingham


The position covers the support of the customers Data Centre Activities. The main responsibilities are the Installation/De-installation of the customers IT systems within the Data Centre and to provide standby/call out cover on a rota.

Daily tasks are the Installation and De-installation of customer kit within agreed SLA’s, answering telephones and using customer specific tools as a problem & change tool and asset management. The Data Centre Operator has no direct supervisory responsibilities to personnel and only supervises machines and terminals.

The team manager is the single point of contact (SPOC) at the location for all escalations.

Main Accountabilities

· Complete tasks to specified standards
· Fully aware of sources for technical and procedural guidance
· Racking and un-racking servers, storage devices, fibre, switches, routers and other Datacentre infrastructure.
· Installation of Datacentre equipment and cabling that supports those products.
· Knowledge of fibre, copper, serial and power cabling.
· Asset Management of received, installed and removed equipment.
· Physical layer trouble shooting (Hands and Eyes) for other Operations Teams.
· General Support of a raised floor environment.
· Responds to problems quickly and efficiently using approved procedures.
· Alerts the Duty Team Leader/Supervisor to actual/potential Service problems.
· Use of Microsoft Outlook for email
· Work rotation standby cover
· Completes ad hoc activities at Team Leader/Supervisor request

  • Host Customer into the machine halls as required

Critical Experience, Know-How and Qualifications required to undertake the role

· Flexible and responsive to business demands.
· Knowledge of Datacentre power, air conditioning and a basic understanding of Electricity at work regulations.
· Must be able to work at height on ladders, as some work will involve working within the top half of racks.
· Networking and Computer Systems Knowledge and experience desirable.
· Must have worked in a raised floor environment.
· Should be able to lift/move up to 30kg individually and 200kg with a team of people using standard manual handling techniques.
· Able to work unsupervised.
· Keen to learn and develop the Service.
· Alert and responsive to change.
· Personable and a good team player.
· Able to follow process/procedures in a methodical manner.

  • Willing to cover colleague’s holiday/sickness periods on rota basis
  • Must have a clean driving licence, own transport and be available to provide standby cover within 30 minutes of call request.

Following a period of significant growth in the UK and European marketplace Pomeroy IT Solutions UK Limited, the European arm of The Pomeroy Group of Companies, a highly regarded US based infrastructure support and outsourcing organisation with global annual turnover of $1bn, is looking to expand their Professional Services and Staffing business unit in the UK.

We are looking for an experienced sales person/s with high level Account Management and new business pursuit & development expertise. The successful candidate will typically be someone with a demonstrable track record of selling Professional Services/Staffing engagements utilising the expertise of high level , highly skilled contractors in a number of fields, primarily Middleware (WebSphere, TIBCO, MQ etc.), and potentially Storage and Security,  into new logo clients in the UK and on potentially continental Europe. This initiative will support and complement our existing competencies in the supply of Mainframe Technical services into our existing and growing client base.

This is an exciting opportunity for a capable and confident sales person to found and grow a new business unit, and candidates with prior track record of signing new Professional/Staffing/Managed Service deals within the Middleware space would be preferred.
